Who We Are
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After comment approval, your profile picture becomes visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract this data from uploaded images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies will last for one year.
When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
Upon login, we set several cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser indicating the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if the visitor had visited those websites directly.
These external websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content — especially if you have an account and are logged in to those sites.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email for security reasons.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely to allow for automatic approval of future comments.
For registered users (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators can also access and edit this data.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request to receive a file of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold, except for data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be scanned through an automated spam detection service.
